Marcy Regatta Rowing Machine Review

The Marcy Regatta rowing, folding machine is a great rowing machine for smaller homes and apartments. This model offers 8 great magnetic resistance levels, so you can build muscle and endurance while rowing, and will fold up neatly in the corner of the room.

Even for a home gym, this rower is a great option.

Marcy Regatta Rowing Machine Features

  • 8 levels of magnetic resistance
  • 4kg flywheel
  • Aluminum seat rail
  • Folds up and comes with transportation wheels
  • Computer feedback via an LCD screen
  • 5kg weight

The Ragatta is really easy to use and will provide you with an impeccable workout. Easy to assemble, this model comes with thorough instructions and even has transport wheels so that you can move it into position without any help.

I would recommend attaching the footrests to the crossbar first during the assembly process.

After it is assembled and ready for use, you will want to adjust the resistance level to the lowest setting. This will allow you to get accustomed to the machine. What I really like is that magnetic resistance is used which make it precise and very taxing on the highest resistance levels. In total, there are 8 resistance options to choose from to make your rowing session more difficult.

Adjustments are done manually with the knob below the LCD console, which means no fiddling with computer screens to adjust resistance.

The pedals or footrests have a swivel design that allows you to place your feet inside of them with ease while having adjustable straps to tighten your foot inside the pedal firmly. The seat is ergonomic and soft, so you can row for 60+ minutes without any discomfort.

When you’re locked in, you will want to pay attention to the LCD display. The display provides feedback for:

  • Time
  • Speed
  • Stroke count
  • Calories burned
  • Strokes a minute
  • Distance

When rowing, you’ll find the motion to be fluid and smooth. The machine itself can hold users up to 17.3 stone.

The handlebar grip is firm, and no blistering or discomfort was felt when rowing. If you’re worried about this model being noisy, it is near silent, so you won’t have to worry about waking up the whole house when you’re rowing.

One of the best features of this model is that you can fold it up and use the transport wheels to place it in a corner for safe storage. This is done with the quick release pin on the rail that allows you to fold the rail up. This makes it possible to fit a full-sized rower in a smaller space and pack it away when not in use.

Pros

  • Exceptional magnetic resistance
  • Easily folds
  • Transport wheels make moving the machine a breeze
  • Computer feedback is accurate
  • Comfortable seat

Cons

  • Resistance levels are lacking

While precise and consistent, many users wished that this rower came with a higher level of resistance. If you’re very fit or a traditional rower, the 8 resistance levels may not be enough to help you with muscle growth.

For a cardio workout, this is a great rower.

The Mary Ragatta is an affordable, compact rower that comes with great resistance for most users, accurate computer feedback, and a quality build that will last for years.
